I can’t believe—as in, truly cannot fathom—that there might not be large, live music concerts for many months.
Because it’s a basic human ritual: to dance with other people—the sweat and the rhythm—the music vibrating through the muscle.
For my first Covid Curation, I’m highlighting the Weaves’s cover of “Help!” Their version warps the sound, making the rhythms ooze. It works, somehow. And it seems particularly fitting to this moment.
